Ola Zdzieborska
We wtorek pojechaliśmy do Aqua City w Popradzie.

INTERNATIONAL VILLAGE PROJECT
STUDENTS EXCHANGE PROGRAMME
Stara Lubovna, SLOVAKIA     6-12 MAY 2018

DAY 1
ARRIVAL
We set off from Sokołów at 7 a.m. The journey is long and tiring but we don't complain.
We meet Roman - the leader of the project at the place. It turns out that he is Polish, which is totally surprising for some of the students. Roman shows us the rooms and allocates us there with our roommates. Who is going to be with whom? We can't wait. Is this Latvian, Spanish or Romanian student with me ? That is the question. Finally, we get to know each other. We eat dinner and attend orientation meeting.
DAY 2
I LOVE MONDAYS NOW
After breakfast the workshops start, we meet our super teachers - Jill and Carter from the USA, Kyle from Canada and Louis from Britain. The classes and the teachers are so great, we feel involved. We are divided into eight different groups. It happens even there is nobody from Sokołów in the group, so you have to speak English. After lunch we join different activities - sports (American football, baseball, soccer), hiking, board games and paper weaving.
In the evening we present our country to the participants from abroad and serve our traditional Polish food. The highlight of the presentation is our traditional folk dance performance prepared by Patryk and Karolina. Their traditional Cracow clothes impress the audience.
Day 3
AQUA CITY/ QUIZZES
After workshops in the morning we go to Aqua City in Poprad. We can enjoy the water in the indoor and outdoor pools. In the evening we ask and answer questions in the Country Quiz and we win the contest. We are awarded the prize. Then, we participate in the Music Quiz in the international groups. The day is busy but exciting.
DAY 4
INTERACTIVE ACTIVITIES/ DISCO INFERNO
Classes in the morning are only the beginning of the next day. In the afternoon we can join water polo, Hollywood acting, make up or handcrafting workshops. In the evening we experience international disco and we have a great fun.

DAY 5
THE GREATEST CHALLENGE
After breakfast we set off to Slovensky Raj. Our group is the biggest group ever to hike in this national park. Over 40 Polish students, over 20 Spanish, a few Romanians. The route is really demanding with wooden ladders, little bridges and rocky paths secured by chains.
We  cross over 20 km in those hard conditions trying to overcome the fear of heights, our own weaknesses and exhaustion. We leave the spectacular landscape of the canyon Prielom Hornadu at the dawn , but fortunately we are safe and sound.
Some of the hikers even feel the spirit of adventure... and want to come back to Slovensky Raj some day... Definitely the day to remember to the rest of your life.
DAY 6
TIME TO SAY GOOD BYE
After taking the challenges in the morning we go shopping to the nearest town to buy Slovakian specialities. In the afternoon we take part in a photo session of all the participants. Then again we can choose afternoon activities. This time you can go for: CAPTURE THE FLAG  with Louis, SUSHI workshop with Jill, ROLLERCOASTER with Carter or a TRIP to the castle in Stara Lubovna. The evening is the time to say good bye to our friends, which appears not to be so easy. We sit around the campfire playing  the guitar & singing, telling ghost stories and just chilling out.
DAY 7
DEPARTURE
The hardest day to us. We must leave our friends because we are the first to set off.
We had an unforgettable time there. Most of us want to come back next year so let it be...
